Does anyone like the following; THE FOO FIGHTERS, PEARL JAM, THE FRAY, or LIFEHOUSE. I like heaps more, but I'd be her all day if I listed them.

I've herd of Him and Night wish, as I'm in radio. Some other bands I like; New Found Glorry, American Hifi, Incubus, System Of a Down, and one from here called Wolf Mother. I don't kno if anyone's herd of them, but they're big here in Australia, cause, well, they are Australian.

System rock and pearl jam are pretty good. ten and VS were their best two cds in my opinion. some of the foo fighters stuff is good.

In Flames Come Clarity is beautiful and Dorp London out There, hmm I challenge anyone not to mosh when that is on. Unfortunately Nightwish have recently split. I have their End of an Era live CD, and it's stunning. I've heard of Wolfmother have you heard of Lordi.

In Flames are awesome. As are Meshuggah--if you look at their meter tricks--, Cradle Of Filth--the music/lyrics only--, some of the stuff from Katatonia, Lost Horizon, and Iced Earth, too.

Since someone asked, Wolf Mother are doing pretty well internationally these days. Aussie-land has to vie for a place on the tour, like everywhere else. Humph!
Lordi are fun! And I'm one of the thousands who'd never heard of them til Eurovision 06, and went on a hunt for their albums directly afterwards.
And Never managed to like Nightwish, and I tried. Really. They just seem to swing between cheesy, and too pretentious for words! But then, they've found a huge fan-base, so I'm obviously missing something.
And finally, I have a great and dorky love of PearlJam, left-over from the angry teen-angst days. Ten is probably their best album, though you can't beet Vitalogy for a good wallow if you're in the right mood.
While we're plumbing the depths of the 90s mainstream, anyone for Smashing Pumpkins?

The Pumpkins were good but Alice in chains were the best Seattle band in my opinion, followed very closely behind by stone temple pilots. I haven't heard Trivium or Meshuggah yet. Iced Earth are good. There is a lot of great prog metal coming out but I still think that Dream theater and Queensryche top the list. And as far as prog roc, rush, genesis, yes, and frank Zappa still rule!

Huh? Lordi are cheesy, but it's not your average supermarket plastic chedder. Metal is cheesy collectively it's more pretentious and camp than a bunch of art critics at Butlins.

...well with The Blood Red Sandman Coming Home Again, hmmm the plastic would have to go..too fake and besides totally melted...oooz'z'z'ing away....

Okay, this is really interesting, but none of you have said anything about one of the biggest rock bands from the 90's. Nirvarna. Yep, if we didn't have them, and poor Kirt didn't meet his maker, we wouldn't have the Foo Fighters. Not that I'd ever wish death on anyone though. However, on the other side, Wolf Mother is doing verry well in the US, and so is Jet and the Living End. I also have a thing for the Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, Catatonia and American Hifi. I also go way back to Black Sabith. Maybe it's cause I find Aussie Ausborn crazy, weird, whatever the word is for him.

Yeah! sabbath! Rock on! I love all the sabbath and ozzy albums! I always wanted to play guitar for him when I was younger. hell, I'd still do it if given the chance... i think that Nevermind was the best Nirvana album although bleach had some great songs and the unplugged CD is good.
